Gautam Ullal

We have always been interested in understanding where our impression the ‘Self’ is located in the brain. Intriguing case studies in which a patient does not recognize their own face can give us a glimpse into our own perception of self.   Dr. Ullal will explore how case studies of delusions in psychiatry inform a neuroscientific viewpoint.

Dr. Gautam Ullal received his MD from St. John's Medical College and completed his Psychiatry residency training from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in India before receiving his PhD fro Hamamatu University School of Medicine in Japan.  His research and teaching are directed towards discovering the mysterious ways of the human brain.
