Daphne Maurer

Do you hear music in colour? Does chicken taste pointy to you?  Perceive Ms as blue? If your perception is enriched by such extras, you, like 5% of adults, have synaesthesia.  Is it just vivid imagination? Not according to recent scientific studies, as Dr. Maurer will explain as she illustrates the hidden synaesthesia in all of us.

Daphne Maurer is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an internationally renowned scientist studying the development of perception and the development of synaesthesia.  Last year she organized the conference of the American Synesthesia Association at McMaster University.
